As the studio grows increasingly prolific, and individual members exhibit in solo, group and prize shows more frequently every year - the group is taking the opportunity to use their regular
exhibition slot to push the boundaries. "Unbound" presents an ambitious display of each artist’s practice through three distinct formats: small, large, and an artist book, inviting interpretations that challenge conventional limits of scale, presentation, and imagination.
Each of the nine exhibiting artists—Jo Darvall, Katie Glaskin, Mikaela Miller, Claire Lawson, William Taylor, Kylee Larsen, Joy Lefroy, Dominique Coiffait, and Aileen Hoath—were given minimum and maximum parameters for their large and small works, and asked to interpret the concept of an artist book however they see fit. This collaborative effort, curated by Katie Glaskin and Mikaela Miller, not only showcases the breadth of artistic capabilities within the studio but also inspires creative risk-taking.
With the mission to educate the WA community about printmaking and celebrate the craft's diverse possibilities, "Unbound" eloquently reflects this ethos. Viewers will encounter a dynamic array of experimental and traditional techniques, figurative and abstract works, and an exciting variety of materials.
