A solo exhibition :: Darvall’s most recent series was conceived while walking though the Boranup Forest, enchanted by its beauty and the play of light that feeds through the endemic Karri trees. For weeks Darvall returns to a particular pocket of the bush, recording the theatrical majesty of the forest in a collection of drawings, paintings and sketches as light as it filtered through Karris, wildflowers, orchids and fungi. Four months later, the same grove would be transformed by a raging bushfire, revealing the forest’s fleeting beauty.
